It's hot.
The weather service says it's 91 F, but it feels hotter to me. Welcome to summer.
My air conditioner was not on when I came home. Bad, bad air conditioner.
My cold is horrible, but I ran errands anyway. Lachlan is at a bad stage in stores, but when Jeff is gone I don't have many other options. As far as I can tell, Lachlan is currently involved in some kind of training for olympic shopping cart gymnastics.
I bought a bottle of wine with my groceries. The check-out lady said "Oh, and I bet this is for you, right?" Meaning that she thought I needed it.
I took them to Home Depot and let them play on the riding lawnmowers. A man passed us and exclaimed over how many of them (the boys, not the tractors). He asked "how did you manage that?"
Wisely, I refrained from telling him. I didn't think he really wanted to know.
I am happy about this. Houston's only a five-hour drive. Not a problem. We can make it a weekend and see NASA. We've seen NASA at the Cape (twice!); we've seen NASA at Huntsville; we have never been to NASA Houston.
Now, I'm going to order very spicy Chinese food and eat until my eyes water.

At least you've seen the Cape. We've been to Houston and Huntsville, but never the Cape. That has to be the most fun. I'm just annoyed that Houston quit taking the science memberships.

They did?? Geez. What is it with Texas museums? It's getting harder and harder to afford them.
My memberships are up and I'm trying to decide where to go to buy a new one. If I get a membership in Dallas, I can't go to Ft. Worth, and vice-versa. Their daily fees make it ridiculous to go more than once or twice a year without a pass.

Yes, the first time we went to Space Center Houston we got in with the ASTC memberships. When we went two years ago, they had stopped.
Bummer.
We have our ASTC membership from the Anniston Museum of Natural History. They are one of the least expensive in the network and we get into all the area ones without having to worry about 50 mile limits....
